The new fashion is to where vintage clothing, however what is vintage and where do you find it? The definition of vintage depending on the person however mostly it means clothing from the 1920's to the 1970's anything after or before these times have different definitions. Also remember this doesn't mean rags or consignment, most vintage stores are exceptionally picky about what clothes they accept and they have to be nearly pristine.

Now the questions is where to find this new fashion have to? The following is a list of stores in Kansas City and surrounding areas to purchase vintage clothing.

Re-Runs Warehouse - Re-Runs is on W 12th Street in Kansas City, MO. They are only open on Saturdays and they sell their vintage clothing and very low prices. The warehouse that houses all these vintage treasures is over 6,000 square feet and they carry clothes for women, men, and children. They also have accessories and vintage home apparel. They keep the cost low by only opening Saturdays. They also have a second store in historic Westport at 4041 Broadway. This store is open all 7 days of the week. Re-Runs also gets in what is called dead-stock which is clothing never worn and just overstocked and never sold. This is a great store to fill your closet with the perfect vintage wear.

Boomerang - This is another great vintage store, they also carry costumes if one is so inclined. The era they seem to focus on is the 50's however they have vintage clothing from all decades. They are located at 1415 W 39th St in Kansas City, MO. They also carry vintage home furniture, lighting, and kitchen items. They are open all 7 days of the week, and the clothes and decently priced for vintage clothing.

Vintage Vogue Apparel - This is a very popular vintage store. They are located in Independence, MO at 12012 E US-40. Clothes from this store were used on the movie "Across the Universe" among many others. They have a very large variety of vintage clothing for all ages, however due to the popularity and customer base the clothing might be more expensive than other vintage store. However the clothes are in immaculate condition and worth the money to have a unique piece in your wardrobe.

Arizona Trading Company - This store although a bit kooky on the inside it is a great store to find key vintage pieces. The prices are more retail store variety but the clothes are great. They even have 80's clothes even though they doesn't quite qualify as vintage pieces as of yet. They are located at 209 Westport Kansas City, MO. They have Converse, and other vintage shoes as well. They do have clearance areas that are great to visit. This is a great store to visit.

Dottie Mae's - This is another great vintage store that also carries costumes as well. They are located at 8308 Wornall Kansas City, MO. They have everything from Victorian clothing, to flapper dresses, to 70's flair. They also carry a selection of formal vintage clothing which is rare to find. They are open everyday of the week and their hours change per season so keep an eye out. They are very well laid out so it is easy to find what you are looking for in the store. The prices are a little high but not department store pricing. They also seem to carry every size for any figure.
