This simple to make vintage suitcase medicine cabinet is a great addition to any bathroom. The look of this medicine cabinet is retro, whimsical, fun, and funky! Best of all you get a vintage medicine cabinet that adds storage in any sized bathroom!

To Make a Vintage Suitcase Medicine cabinet you will need:

1 hard case vintage suitcase (squared is best)

Power drill

Wood screws

Toggle bolts

1X4's

¾ wood molding

Hard as nails glue or epoxy glue

Paint

The first step is to find a rectangle or squared off vintage suitcase. You can sue a rounded edge vintage suitcase if you want, but scared edges will be much easy to deal with.

Now, open up the vintage suitcase and take a look at the inside. Make sure it is in good condition. If the fabric is old, ripped, or stained, then remove it. You can reline it or paint the inside.

Now, measure how wide the inside of the vintage suitcase is. Next, measure how deep.

Now, run to the home improvement store and buy 1X4's (or 1X6's) and have them cut to length. These should be as wide as the inside of your vintage suitcase.

You should buy the 1X4's or 1X6's, which ever the depth of your vintage suitcase will allow.

Now, for each self in your vintage suitcase you will need one piece of ¾ inch molding cut to the same length as the shelf, and two pieces cut to the depth of your vintage suitcase, minus one inch.

Now, lay you vintage suitcase on a flat work surface. Open the lid.

Now, inside use the hard as nails or epoxy glue to adhere the 3/x inch molding inside. If you have lining, then make sure to use a thick line of glue so it will soak through the lining and adhere your shelf supports to the walls o the hard case suitcase.

Place the long piece of molding on the back, then the two-side piece. Repeat for each shelf in the medicine cabinet.

Repeat for each shelf.

Let this dry for at least 24 hours.

Now, simply slide your shelves into place and hang on your bathroom wall!

To hang your vintage suitcase medicine cabinet you will need to drill two holes through the back of the suitcase. Once should be in the top left corner and one in the top right corner of the back of the suitcase.

Place thee holes about three inches down from the top and three inches in from the right.

Be sure to hang by drilling into studs in your wall.

You can also use toggle bolts or wall anchors.

For some added function to this vintage medicine cabinet try installing a mirror in the lid. Use that same epoxy glue to glue it into the lid!
