Violence in Video Games: Real Threat or a Bunch or Hype?

I don't think so! I've been playing video games for a long time now and I have NEVER wanted to do the stuff in real life that I do in the game. I play a lot of RPG (Role-Playing Games) and "Shooters" and yeah I have been VERY upset many times playing the game when I die, but I have never wanted to harm anyone because of a game.

There are many people who would say that video games are a contributing factor to child violence, but in my experience I have seen that if a child is going to be violent, they are going to do something regardless if they happened to see it in a video game or not. That is only my opinion though, as in many years I have not seen myself or anyone else I know get so involved or angry at a video game that it makes them want to replicate what they have seen in the game in real life!

If anyone knows of someone that has specifically stated that video games were the cause of their reign of terror (and were telling the truth), please let me know about them because they will be that 1-1,000,000 case that will get everyone talking about stricter laws on games and etc. Children may replicate the actions in the video games but it is ultimately the parents responsibility to make sure that their child knows the different between real violence and make believe and if the parents are too busy to teach their child right from wrong then they are giving their child a 50/50 shot at either turning out mostly correct or turning into an unholy nightmare.
