Viore LC42VF55 Review: Bring Home a 42" LCD HDTV Big Screen for Less
One of the Most Reasonable Big Screens Available Today
Styling: 4/5
Image Quality: 4/5
Value: 5/5
Overall: 4/5
Product Overview:
If it wasn't for the shockingly low price I doubt the Viore would really set itself a part from all the other televisions in the show room - and that is in a good way. Typically when you think of low cost or budget electronics your immediately think cheap. That just doesn't seem to be the case with the Viore LC42VF55. The display is surrounded by a glossy black plastic frame much like most of the other LCD's on the market today. The stand is short and squat made of a similar material and has a sturdy feel. The actual television itself is a little heavy and a bit wide at just under 5". The speakers flank the base of the frame and produce surprisingly good sound for it's price range.
The image quality produced by this full-HD 1080p display is good. I noticed a little bit of motion blur as the refresh rate lagged however I found it to be completely reasonable. The viewing angle is about average and I imagine that most living room set ups will accommodate the Viore. The screen reflected glare well and only slightly washed out in a bright room. I found that the screen's brightness was turned up quite high when it came out of the box and actually performed better after some adjustments. The only area where I would like to see improvement is in the contrast department. I would have liked to have seen the television handle grays and blacks a little better.
The connectivity isn't going to win it any awards either. It comes with two HDMI inputs which are the gold standard of high definition connectivity. Most displays of this size come with at least 3, however considering the price I doubt this is a deal breaker. I don't use more than 2 myself with my Playstation 3 (which I use as a blu-ray player) and my HD cable receiver.
Product Value:
With out a doubt this is one of the most competitively priced 42 LCD HDTV's on the market today. Consumers will be hard pressed to find a new, not refurbished big screen that performs better for the money then this Viore. As far as service goes this product does come with a standard 1 year parts and service warranty.
