Viral Old Spice Advertisement Has Fueled Other Advertisers to Find New Alternative Ads Campaigns

When former football star Isaiah Mustafa first signed on to work for Old Spice and be in their commercials, I'm certain he probably had no idea that the commercials would be as big of hits as they have become. In some of the Old Spice commercials, Mr. Mustafa can be seen showing off his shapely hard body with seductive voice to win over the ladies, in hopes of gaining luring their attention to making their men smell more like a manly man such as him. In some commercials he can be seen expelling a hard core attitude and pure raw comedic talent to get him message across that men that use Old Spice Body Wash don't stink they smell like a man's man.

Old Spice advertisements have become viral on the Internet and in some of the Old Spice Isaiah Mustafa commercials, he even directs his attention to answering viewers and providing guidance and feedback much like a Dear Abby of today, but with a much better body and demanding presence.

Most commercials these days especially in my opinion are bland, if they are selling laundry soap they talk of how white or how clean things get. If the advertiser is selling cars they are even more boring with quiet cars or cars that let you look for sunglasses. Coffee that let you see how easy it is to snap the lid and lock freshness in. Even fast food commercials are somewhat lazy now with pointing out limited specials instead of those that featured the "Hamburglar."

The best thing that these Old Spice viral commercials have hit on is that people want to watch what is entertaining, engaging and sexual. Isaiah Mustafa has all touches on all three points he is entertaining to watch, engaging especially to jocks and women and very sexually demanding. Sexually demanding, which perhaps is the whole key to the viral part people are intrigued at the smell like a man while even riding a horse backwards. This spot in particular shows an incredibly enticing man talking of your man smelling the way a man should smell and engaging you in the conversation with his deep demanding voice, then showing an entertaining and the quirky side of him with him riding a horse backwards.

According the market reporters the advertising executives are taking notice of how Old Spice did this new viral marketing venture and how they can best reproduce this venture if not on a bigger scale. Old Spice hit the mark like a hammer hitting the head of a nail when it achieved this viral hit and now it is up to other advertisers to find a way to follow in their lead.

I know that there has been a many a time that I have thought if the advertisers would just ask a person like me who is just an average middle class hard working American, I would tell them. After all I'm talented, I know what most people buy and what is engaging to middle America. It amazes me sometime that some of the commercials that are out there actually seem to leave off the punchlines or fall short from a complete thought. All I can hope is that now this viral ad will provoke some heat to get some new advertisements on television and the Internet.
