Looking for ideas on how to fill your child's summer days? Check out the Virginia TimeTravelers program (www.timetravelers.org).

Virginia TimeTravelers is a program that lists more than 350 family-friend attractions throughout Virginia. Pick up a TimeTravelers passport at any of the participating attractions or download one online. For each attraction your family visits, you children get a stamp on their passport. When each passport has six stamps, you can turn it in and your child will get a TimeTravelers certificate signed by Governor Tim Kaine. Get more than six stamps (just get a second passport) and your child's certificate will have as special Master Traveler seal on it.

Need a little incentive to get your child to participate? How about a TimeTravelers t-shirt? When you turn in your passport include a check for $7 and your child gets his/her very own TimeTravelers t-shirt.

Interested in a little history with your summer fun?
Check out the "Legacy" themes sites listed in the TimeTravelers passport. This year marks not only the 400th anniversary of the founding of Jamestown, but all the 200th anniversary of Robert E. Lee's birth. The legacy sites commemorate these milestones and other locations, events and people that contributed to Virginia's legacy.

Visit and get stamps in your child's passport for at least two of the Legacy sites and your child will get a free TimeTravelers Legacy patch with his/her certificate.

Looking for something different and fun this summer?
Check out the list of special events for family fun across Virginia at the TimeTravelers website (www.timetravelers.org). Don' forget to get your passport stamped while at these events.

Short on cash?
The TimeTravelers passport lists more than 130 family-friendly attractions that have free admission. The passport also notes any which of the listed attractions offer a discount if you present the TimeTravelers passport when purchasing tickets.

Attractions listed in the TimeTravelers program are divided up by five Virginia regions -- Northern Virginia; Tidewater, Hampton Roads and Eastern Shore; Central Virginia; Shenandoah Valley; and Southwest Blue Ridge Highlands. TimeTravelers destinations include muesuems of all types -- children, historical, cultural, art and science. You'll also find historical sites, nature centers, botanical gardens, wildlife habitats and zoos among the attractions listed on the passport. But be sure to visit the website for updates to the list of attractions and special events.

The TimeTravelers program is a great way to discover Virginia's treasures with your children.
