Vision Airlines will operate out of a number of Florida cities including Miami, St. Petersburg, Ft. Myers, Orlando, Destin/Ft. Walton Beach, and Ft. Lauderdale. Out of St. Petersburg passengers will be able to fly to Asheville, NC; Chattanooga, Tenn; Gulfport/Biloxi, Miss.; and Huntsville, Ala.
Travelers can use the Orlando stop to fly to and out of Disney World. Seats begin as low as $49.
Vision Airlines originated giving tours of the Grand Canyon but is significantly expanding by offering low cost tickets in and out of Florida.
The airline will fly Boeing-737 planes out of Florida which have lots of overhead bin space, decent leg room and comfortable seats. Although Vision Airlines will charge for checked baggage their CEO says they will not charge "all the junk fees" many other low-cost carriers do.
"Right now, we're really focused on helping revitalize the economy, here on the Gulf coast and throughout Florida that was devastated last year by the oil spill," Vision Airlines CEO David Meers said. "So by offering low-cost fares, direct non-stop flights and big jets, we think we'll have a great opportunity to succeed."
Vision Airlines will have one route between Ft. Walton Beach and Buffalo/Niagra Falls, while the rest of its itineraries stretch across the southeastern USA and reach as far west as Houston.

thanks! i was thinking of going to florida soon! may have to plan it now :)
I love hearing about new airlines. Hopefully, another low cost airline will also help drive down flight prices at other airlines, too. I would love to see Vision expand and serve a majority of the US.
