Going Back in Time Remembering Several of the Wars

it is opened to the public and is known as the scariest place around. Hundreds of ghost hunters enter there each year to see what is new and what they may see that one scary night. But this event is being done annually and is a piece of history relived. Allison Woods is located on US 21, approximately 8 miles north east of Statesville, North Carolina. The area has the setting of World War II, and the Civil War with the re-enactment and demonstrations of World War II, and the Civil War. During the visit there will be a Napoleon Cannon that is made out of 12 pounds of brass. Sometime in that era the cannon has become known as "Satan." During the event the cannon will be fired. There are other types of artillery to be seen doing the event. There also will be exhibits and demonstrations of the Revolutionary War. The actors that will participate in the activities will be dressed as so. There will be clothing, some weapons, and even vehicles to be viewed by the visitors. Also some of the activities are for the children to join in to learn and have fun. It is expected that there will be over 300 some people ready to participate in the re-enacting and demonstrations for the whole week-end of enjoyment. This event is not only fun for the whole family, but interesting, and educational also.
There are concession stands on the grounds. There will be enough food and drinks for a feast. Visitors may bring umbrellas, cameras, chairs and blankets ready to get comfortable to enjoy the day, maybe return for the second day for the whole week-end event.
Allison Woods is located off US Highway 21 North of Statesville, NC. The entrance fee is: a child under 12 will get in free with a person that is paying $10.00 for the day. Of course there is a discount if attending the second day; the fee is $15.00 for both days. So plan to save and purchase the week-end pass. There are several motels and hotels in the area just off I-40 on the US Highway 21 exit, to name a few; Holiday Inn, Economy Inn and Days Inn.
