The Bahamas offers each individual a tailor made experience. For parents traveling with children then Nassau and Paradise Island may be your perfect destination. Paradise Island's Atlantis Resort is just fantastic for families with its massive water park. But children aside Atlantis is also home to the Caribbean's largest casino, restaurants bearing the names of celebrity chefs, shopping and nightclubs.
If yours is a family that loves dolphins then a trip to Dolphin Cove cannot be missed. At Dolphin Cove you can swim with dolphins that have been saved from the Gulf of Mexico in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.
Accommodation at Atlantis provides visitors with standard rooms in its Royal Towers to chic new rooms at The Cove. If staying on Paradise Island but would prefer to stay at Comfort Suites or Best western you can and your room rate will even include access to Atlantis water-park.
You will find Nassau less flashy but there is lots of down to earth fun for families on offer here. Both kids and adults love to visit the Pirates of Nassau Museum, which offers a fun interactive way for all to learn about the pirate history of the Caribbean. During your trip here you will be led through a replica of a pirate ship and see swords and cannons. An experienced guide will tell you colorful tales of Nassau's most famous pirates such as, Anne Bonny, Mary Read and Blackbeard.
Paradise Island and Nassau are the biggest tourist pull in The Bahamas but there is plenty of family fun to be enjoyed on the other islands too. Freeport is a favorite playground for both adults and kids and is home to Our Lucaya resort complex.
Our Lucaya bridges the space between lively Nassau and the quiet Out Islands. This property on its own accounts for 10 distinct restaurants, cafes, bars and any beach activity you could want.
Naturally romance and The Bahamas go hand in hand. Where else would you be able to stroll along a beach or bath in the ocean with complete privacy? Well with the 700 islands and cays there are thousands of beaches from which to choose.
Of course with that many to choose from it could be quite a daunting task to pick just one but there is one beach that tops the list. That beach would be Treasure Cay on the east coast of Great Abaco. Here you will enjoy inviting turquoise water, white shorelines and powder soft sand.
Dunmore Town on Harbour Island is also a lovely Out Island retreat for romance with its New England style small inns and hotels and pink sand beaches. Once having harbored the Governor of Virginia when he fled during the Revolutionary War this is one of the oldest settlements in The Bahamas.
The Bahamas will not disappoint fisherman either. Most of the Out Islands were settled by fisherman and today the locals use their experience to catch some of the biggest trophy fish in the sea.
Marsh Harbour in the Abacos is home to only 5000 residents but the summer months see this number increase drastically. During the summer there are fishing tournaments that draw fisherman from all over the world and you don't even have to be a pro to win even amateurs have been known to hook sailfish, tuna and marlin at record sizes.
If you are looking for a vacation that offers diverse destinations look no farther than The Bahamas and do not forget your passport.
