Cleveland is an exciting "All American" city with much to offer. One of the best ways to get a good taste of Cleveland is to go on tour with some of the local special interest tours that are available. Here is a list of them to start with.

ASM International Materials Park

Cleveland Materials Park is the World Headquarters for ASM International. It's been noted as one of the seven wonders of Cleveland. The building features the ASM Geodesic Dome. This is the largest openwork dome in the world. It stands as a symbol of humanity's mastery of materials: from the minerals and laboratories they come from, to the processes that make them useful in ways that touch our lives every day.

Cuyahoga County Soldiers and Sailors Monument

This 111-year-old monument commemorates the Civil War. It consists of a 125-foot column topped with a statue of the "Goddess of Liberty". The Goddess signifies loyalty to the nation. There are four bronze groupings at the base of the monument to depict Navy, Cavalry, Infantry and Artillery. Here you'll find tablets listing 9,000 Civil War veterans. There are four more bronze relief sculptures depicting the Soldiers' Aid Society, Emancipation of the Slaves, Beginning of the War in Ohio and the End of the War, as well as busts of James Barnett, Levi Scofield and officers killed in action.

Malley's Chocolates

This is a favorite tour for young and old. Malley's Chocolates has been selling delicious chocolates and ice cream since 1935. Malley's is a 60,000 foot chocolate wonderland. Along with seeing chocolate making history, you will get free samples so you can taste the delicious surprises made from Malley's secret recipes for yourself.

Severance Hall

Severance Hall is home of the Cleveland Orchestra and one of the world's most beautiful concert halls. The architectural significance of Severance Hall has been recognized by local and national preservation societies, including the Cleveland Landmarks Commission and the National Register of Historic Places.

Cleveland Museum of Art

You'll want to set aside plenty of time to tour this world-famous museum. It has over 43,000 works. From Ancient Greece and Rome, to modern day art forms, there is something here that is of interest to any taste. There are 389,076 square feet of artwork to cover and more than 70 galleries. This museum was built in 1913 "For the benefit of all the people forever".

Cleveland Museum of Natural History

The Museum of Natural History was founded in 1920. Today, the Museum is considered one of the finest institutions of its kind in North America. Its mission emphasizes scientific research, conservation and education. When you visit this museum your see the Sears Hall of Human Ecology, fossils of early man, dinosaurs, gemstones from around the world, live birds of prey, displays about the planet Earth and its evolution, and the recently built Shafran Planetarium, and many other delights.

Crawford Auto-Aviation Museum

The Crawford Auto-Aviation Museum is part of the Case Western Reserve Historical Society. The Crawford collection is one of the top ten in the nation, according to Car Collector magazine. There are more than 200 antique, vintage, and classic automobiles and aircrafts. The collection documents the technological and stylistic development of the transportation industry, with a focus on early automobiles created in Cleveland.

Cleveland Botanical Garden

Cleveland Botanical Garden was founded in 1930 as the Garden Center of Greater Cleveland. This is the first such organization in an American city. While you are at the gardens, you'll enjoy a dazzling journey to the dry spiny dessert of Madagascar and the lush cloud forest of Costa Rica. You will be emerged into a world of strange and beautiful plants and exotic birds, butterflies and other animals. There are 10 acres of beautiful landscaped gardens, including a rose garden; a Japanese garden; a restorative garden, the nationally recognized herb garden, and the award-winning Hershey Children's Garden.
