Visit the Colossal Cave Mountain Park in Tucson, Arizona
Take a Guided Tour at the Colossal Cave in Tucson, Arizona
On a recent trip to Tucson, AZ. my family and I just happened upon a sign for the Colossal Cave Mountain Park and noticed it was not far out of town. We decided to take a short detour and explore the countryside of the Tucson area. A few hours later after a cave tour we were pleasantly surprised and had thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon at the Colossal Cave Mountain Park.

Things to Do
There are many tours to choose from to explore the cave, from easy to the more challenging such as the Wild Cave Tour and the Off-Route Cave Tours. The cave has a history as a dangerous hideout, a difficult workplace, and a treacherous playground. You will see bats in their natural environment and other creatures as well. I had a very memorial experience on my cave tour. The guide was friendly and informative. Make sure to secure a spot on the tours by calling ahead or visiting the cave's website to make reservations. Also by reservation you may have birthday parties, stagecoach and hay rides as well as cowboy cookouts!
There is a camping and picnic area in the park for a leisurely lunch or an overnight camp out. La Posta Quemada Ranch is a 130 year old working ranch that offers tours and there are many museums to wander through also. A gift shop with unique handmade gifts and souvenirs is also located in the park.
A butterfly garden, research library, bird area and hiking trails round out the many things to do and see at the Colossal Cave Mountain Park.
Visit the Colossal Cave Mountain Park's website for more information and then begin to plan your visit to this beautiful natural wonder.
