Visit East Main Collectibles in Hampton, Georgia

East Main Collectibles is the place to go for antiques in Hampton Georgia. The town of Hampton is a strip of buildings dating from the nineteenth century. The county recently undertook a major re-vamping of the area. A lot of the brickwork is new but still retains the vintage look. They have several restaurants and hair salons, but only one place for antiques. This is down from three shops fifteen years ago. Read on to learn about this unique place.

East Main Collectibles sits at 8 East Main Street in Hampton Georgia. It is in the middle of shops on the strip. You will find it convenient to the Atlanta Motor speedway and interstate 1941. The town is laid back and you will have no problem finding parking.

East Main Collectibles contains collectibles, which are of varying age, and genuine antiques that are older than twenty-five years. None of the stuff is junk like you might see at a yard sale. The store is divided into ten to fifteen little sections. The owner rents these to people at fifty dollars a month to sell their items. These items must past the collectible and antique test. Every sub-renter agrees to a six-month lease and to give ten percent of his or her profits to the owner. The owner watches the store and manages the transactions. She also uses internet sites such as Craig's list to sell items. She is doing well despite the economy while giving others the option of selling their items in a "store" setting.

The items themselves are reasonably priced. You will get a good deal but no "steals". The different sections run by different individuals give you a wide variety of things to choose from. I saw a fully functioning jukebox from the sixties for around $500 dollars. Another section had a breakfast in bed tray for only two dollars. She has a wonderful section in the middle of the store of acoustic and electric guitars. In the back I saw, but didn't read, stacks of old Playboy magazines. Other examples are old china, clocks and records.

So come into East Main Collectibles if you are in Hampton Georgia. Antiques have a quality that can't be found in modern goods. This place isn't an indoor yard sale. All the items have been screened of acceptability. The renters put forth their best stuff for sale since they spend fifty dollars a month. You might get a deal if you stop by.
