Visit to Famous Muslim Pilgrimage Place of Miradatar in the Gujarat State in India

The State of Gujarat in India is full of places of pilgrimage for the people of all the religions, including that of Muslim religion. Muslims do not believe in worshipping of statues. However, they do give the due respect to the samadhis / dargahs of their great saints and Sufis. There are still thousands of pilgrims, even Hindus, visiting such holy Muslim places to fulfill their heart's desire with the blessings of such holy Muslim saints.

One such place of pilgrimage is known as Miradatar, which is situated in the Northern part of the Gujarat State at the village Unava in Sidhpur taluka in the district of Mehsana. Thousands of pilgrims of all the religions visit this holy place and none of them returns empty handed as Peer Mira Datar fulfills the desire of each and every pilgrim. The meaning of Mira is the brave person and meaning of Datar is the person giving lots of donations to the poor and needy people.

Miradatar can easily be reached from Ahmedabad by bus or taxi or hired car within around 3 hours, covering the distance of around 70 miles. This tomb of Miradatar is situated on the bank of River Pushpavati. The family of Miradatar Saiyad Ali was connected with the great Mohammad Paygambar, who established Muslim religion. The grandfather of Miradatar, Hazrat Ali, was the son in law of the great Hazrat Mohammad Paygambar. The story goes like that the king of Mandu was harassing his people. The Muslim King Muhammad Begda attacked the King of Mandu to save the people of Mandu but could not win over the King of Mandu. Muhammad Begda finally requested Miradatar to help him to win the war.

Miradatar fought the war bravely but was killed in the war while bringing the victory to Muhammad Begda. Miradatar was cremated at the village of Unava in Gujarat State near the city of Mehsana. And it has been the place of pilgrimage for the people of all religions since then. The pilgrims bring all the patients or the sufferers to Miradatar and pray here for their quick recovery. Particularly the patients of mental disorder are brought here for fast recovery. The faith and trust of the people in great saint Miradatar cures all the patients quickly. I had an opportunity to visit this holy place during my last visit to India during last November. And I was amazed to see the big crowd of pilgrims at Miradatar, which is situated at the tiny village in remote corner of the Gujarat State.

The large urs is held here every year on 28 th day of the Moharram month. Around 50000 pilgrims visit this holy place on that day from all over the country. Each and every pilgrim is provided with free food and staying facility here during that urs. As such, Unava is a very small village having population of around only 5000 people. Even some of the basic facilities also are not available here like food, water, and stay etc. You must try to cover this place by staying either at Mehsana or Ahmedabad. Make sure to carry your own supply of drinking water and food with you as there are no good, clean restaurants available here at the village of Unava.

It is not the beauty or facilities that bring the suffering people here at Miradatar, but it is their strong faith and confidence in this great saint that brings all of them here at Unava. I have seen myself many patients recovering from their years old diseases just by visiting and praying at this holy place with trust, faith, and confidence. I am quiet confident that this article would provide the necessary encouragement to thousands of Muslims and Hindus equally to vi, staying in the USA, to visit this holy place to get rid of their pains and sorrows of their life.
