It's Summer time, and its come time for Tiki Tuesdays. Jacks on the Waterfront is the hot spot for Tiki Tuesdays.

Jacks on the Waterfront Tiki Tuesdays has a Tiki Bar that is open-air thatch roofed hut built around a "Quonset Hut". The Tiki Bar at Jacks on the Waterfront is known as the sun-seeker's paradise. From Jacks Tiki bar you can arrive by both boat and car!. Boat charges for docking are $1.00 per foot and they offer electricity, water and catering. Don't have your own boat, that is ok. Jacks on the Waterfront offers a private charter on the Steam Powered "Trade Winds IV". This boat (More like a ship, it can hold 45 guests), can be rented for private parties.

If Tuesdays is not the day for you, Jacks on the Waterfront offers Sunday Brunches with a wide variety of food includes a waffle station, omelet station, breakfast foods, lunch/dinner variety, plus a Chocolate Fountain with fresh fruits. Dipping these fresh fruits in the fountain is a great end to any meal. They offer a full menu at their bar dockside or for sit down dining. Jack on the Waterfront kitchen is open late. I have to say their house dressing for the salad is the best. Cucumber Dill what a unique flavor! Their dinners start at $12.00. They only run this special on Saturdays, but their prime rib is to die for and one of my favorite meals!

I can't say enough about the breathtaking views of the water from this establishment. One of the attractions is that from their dockside you can watch the parade of lights that happens yearly! The fun doesn't stop at the Tiki Bar for Tiki Tuesdays, they have events going on all year long. Some of these events include; Mardi Gras, Oktoberfest, and the Inaugural Ball for their Commodore Club. The list of awards that Jack's at the Waterfront has won is amazing. To just name a few: "Best Place to get Docked", "Best Main Course", "Best Service", "Best Decorated Restaurant", and "Best Salads" (Told you their house dressing cucumber dill was the best!).

Just when you thought there was nothing more they could offer, I have to tell you they are very involved in local charities. It makes you feel good knowing when you go somewhere to spend money they give some of back to the community. Some of the Charities they are involved in include: Children's Home of Detroit, Michigan Human Society, and American Cancer Society.

See the swimming pool by the Tiki Bar, this is not for kids! Leave you kids at home! The only bar I know that offers a swimming pool right off the bar.

See you there on Tuesdays!

    Hello

I was just in MoTown on a layover for company business. My co-hort suggested Jack's for a great view and dinner. I was blown away, I'm from California and never was received at any establishments (and I have ate at the best) by a more friendly and hospitable group of people. What stuck in my mind was a gentlemen and I think his name was Paul, he did everything for me but cut my meal, which I think he would have done, had I asked. California needs more Paul's in the restaurant/custumer service business. My kudo's to the person who hired him and hope he becomes a mainstay. I'll be back, especially when summer hits.

    Thank You
