Keystone Lake is a beautiful area to visit and to behold. With its sparkling, blue-green water, natural setting, including a wooded shoreline, sandy beaches,hills, bluffs, and grasslands, is a sight to see even all year round. The lake goes off into small valleys, which creates many arm and leg "fingers". The lake itself is located on the Arkansas River, which is 15 miles west of downtown Tulsa, Oklahoma.The lake is huge. It is an amazing 26,000 acre lake. There are 16 recreation areas, 11 boat ramps, miles upon miles of sandy beaches, 3 marinas, 2 off-road vehicle areas, 5 trails that are meant to travel small distances, a waterfowl refuge, and thousands of acres of land that is open to the public for hunting.

You can camp at Keystone Lake. Cabins are available, and you can camp using their full hook-up facilities. within the park are 21 cabins, which include fireplaces for the cooler nights. One bedroom cabins are available to rent for $60.00 a day on the weekends, and $55.00 a day on weekdays. You can rent boats through the Keyport marina and Pier 51. Services and various supplies can be found nearby at commercial stores that are on the lake. Hotels and motels are also conveniently located in the nearby communities.

Many people enjoy fishing at Keystone Lake. They are noted for their many types of fish, including, but not limited to, striped bass, sand bass, black bass, catfish, and crappie. Downstream fisheries are easily gotten to from the Whitewater and Brush creek Parks.

As mentioned above,Keystone has an amazing sized Public Hunting Area. Over 15,000 acres are available to hunt on, and they lie mostly along the shoreline. The majority of the wildlife includes squirrel, rabbit, quail and waterfowl, but is not limited to those. Contact the states local Game and Hunting Commission to find this years rules and regulations concerning hunting.

There are many other attractions located near Keystone Lake. Visit the nearby Walnut Creek State Park.This beautiful park is located just on the northern arm of Keystone Lake and is approximately 1,429 acres. It is located just west of the town of New Prue in Osage County. This park is open all year, and you have access to 14 camping sites, picnic areas, hiking and bicycling trails, a beach for swimming, playgrounds, and softball areas.
