The tourists have started looking for virgin hill stations in India to avoid the crowd of people and the pollution due to this crowd of tourists. The entire fun of visiting such hill stations is lost due to this. Hence, the trend of visiting untouched and virgin hill stations is found increasing in India. Kinnar is one such hill station in India, which is situated in the State of Himachal Pradesh in India. I had an opportunity to visit this beautiful hill station during last winter. I have found this hill station very enjoyable and have no hesitation in recommending its visit to all my friends and readers.

Kinnar can be reached by air, rail, and the buses. The nearest airport is Chandigarh, which is around 54 miles away. The tourists, who want to travel by rail can change the train at Kalka Railway station and then, take narrow gauge train up to Simla. The journey from Simla to Kinnar has to be done by road only. The entire journey from Simla to Kinnar passes through the most scenic sites and is very freshening for the tourists.

There are regular buses plying from the city of Kalka for this virgin hill station of Kinnar through the National Highway number 22. Kinnar is situated at the height of around 6300 feet from the mean sea level. The temperature frequently goes below freezing range here at Kinnar during the winter months of December to march. The entire Kinnar area is full of tall mountains and deep valleys with the lush green forests all around it. The famous summit of Kailash, situated here at Kinnar, presents the most impressive view. The local people strongly believe that Lord Shiva was staying at this summit of Mount Kailash during the ancient time. The shape of this summit is also very similar to the face of Lord Shiva. There are comparatively fewer hotels here for the tourists. In view of the same, it is absolutely necessary to book your hotel accommodation in advance. The names of some of such hotels at Kinnar are Hotel Kinnar International, Hotel Himalayas, and Hotel Winter Palace. We had stayed at Hotel Kinnar International that provided us a nice double room at the rates of around Rs.5000 ($125) per day.

There are many site seeing places available near Kinnar. The village of Karcham is one such place, which is situated at the meeting point of Rivers Satlaj and Baspa. The tourists really enjoy the visit to Karcham, which is around 20 miles away from Kinnar. Sangala is the next place that is loved by all the tourists. It is situated at around 11 miles away from Kinnar. The view of Kailash summit from this point looks fabulous. Sangala is located on a very steep slope, thus offering a great view of the entire area. Rampur is the next place. It is known as the main entrance to the Kinnar region. It was the main business center between India and Tibet in the earlier years. The ancient temple of Chandika Mata at the village of Kothi is also worth visiting. The statue of Mataji placed here is made of solid gold and is extremely eye catching. The village of Kalp is the main town of Kalp district. The summit of Kailash is situated just opposite to this village. The view of Kailash summit at the time of sunrise from this small village is simply superb and breathtaking. The stay of around two to three days at Kinnar may be sufficient to cover all the major tourist's attractions. The North Indian food delicacies are served here at all the hotels and are very really delicious and tasty.

I would suggest all my AC friends and readers to visit this beautiful virgin hill station in the State of Himachal Pradesh in India to enjoy the virgin and untouched beauty of this eunique hill station.
