Twin Lakes Park is a beautiful facility that not only holds many outdoor activities, but also programs and things to do as well.
There are two lakes in the park, the Upper and Lower Lakes. They are stocked by the PA Fish Commission with well-bred game fish. On addition to fishing during warmer weather, the lake is able to offer a safe haven for winter ice-fishing. Circling both of the lakes runs a figure-eight walkway, which totals almost 2 and a half miles all together. Hunting is also allowed in certain areas of the park.
Twin Lakes Boathouse sits down on the shore of the Lower Lake, and offers pedal boats, canoes, and rowboats for rental. The rental for rowboats start at $4.50 an hour, while four and five seat pedal boats are available for $5.50 an hour. You may purchase food, drinks, and even live bait at the Boathouse. During winter months, cross-country ski rentals are also available.
An activities center is also available for rent at twin Lakes. Open year-round, this reception hall/meeting room can accommodate up to 100 people. It includes a small kitchen and indoor restrooms. Twin Lakes also has seven pavilions found throughout the park, that will accommodate larger parties, up to 200. The are available for rent by calling 724-830-3950.
Come check out the free concerts held at Island Stage, every Sunday during the summer months. While you're in the park, be sure to visit the Vietnam Veterans of Westmoreland County Memorial, which is located on the Upper Lake, near pavilion #2.
Twin Lakes is also known for holding the very popular Westmoreland Arts & Heritage Festival every year. Visit to see live performing arts, traditional arts and crafts, ethnic and traditional foods, and much more activities. The whole family will enjoy a trip to the Festival!

Mammoth Park
Mammoth Park is a beautiful park that offers many enjoyable activities.
Stop at the 24-acre lake that is stocked by the PA Fish Commission. The lake offers many fishing decks for your convenience. In the winter, visit the frozen lake t indulge in ice-fishing or ice-skating. Hunting is also allowed in portions of the park, and the lake is sometimes closed for waterfowl hunting.
Kids will love the Giant Slide in the creative Play Area. This is a 96 foot slide that is built into the hillside of Mammoth Park and has given thousands of kids, and adults, a thrilling ride. The park also has traditional playground equipment for the young ones enjoyment.
From the observation deck at Mammoth Park is a ten-mile view of the mammoth Park countryside, sure to please everyone who looks at it. Or visit the Model Radio-Controlled airfield, where visitors can see a huge variety of model airplanes fly through the air of the park.
Many other facilities are offered throughout Mammoth Park. Check out the Ball Field Complex, where you can play on two of the best softball and baseball fields in the county. Soccer fields are also available. Play in the basketball court, tennis courts, a street hockey court, two boccie courts, two shuffleboard courts, horseshoe areas, and volleyball courts. Tobogganing and sled areas are also available in the winter months.
Visit the World War II Veterans Memorial next to Pavilion number 2 parking area, or check out the old beehive coke ovens that have been carefully restored for interpretive purposes. For picnics or group outings, you can use any of the 14 pavilions located in the park, each accommodating up to 200 people.

Raccoon Creek State Lake
Raccoon Creek Lake boasts 101-acres of beautiful wildlife and water.
Visit the beach where you can lay out and enjoy the sun, swim in the lake, or play with the kids building sand castles. Visit the large Wildflower preserve or the mineral springs.
Two boat launches are located on the park, with boats being available for rent. Canoes, rowboats, kayaks and paddleboats can be rented from the rental area, which is near the beach swimming area. Fishing enthusiasts can try out their rods and reels here, as well as ice-fishing in the winter months. Other winter activities include ice-skating, sledding, snowmobiling, and cross-country skiing. Take a hike on the miles of beautiful trails, which include 44 miles of foot trails that lead through Raccoon Park. Stop and have a picnic and one of five picnic areas and take in the scenery.
There are 16 miles of bridle trails for the horse lovers, and many areas of historical interest. Frankfort Mineral Springs is the location of a famous spa from the 1800's. King's Creek Cemetery has many of the region's first settlers buried in there. There are also 17 miles of trails that can be used for biking, and a campground is open year-round with 10 modern cabins, and 172 tent and trailer campsites.
