The museum is located at the Baylor campus, 1300 S. University Parks and the phone number is 254-710-1110.

While you're in the area, check out the Armstrong Browning Library, also on campus at 710 Speight (254-710-3566). It has the world's largest collection of materials relating to Robert and Elizabeth Barrett Browning housed in a building with 59 stained-glass windows based on the literary works of the famous couple. Hours are Mon.-Fri. 9-5 and Sat. 9-noon and admission is free. It is also handicapped accessible.

One of the Robert's famous quotes was "How do I love thee? Let me count the ways."

The great British Victorian poets' history is captured in a breathtaking atmosphere of lead stained glass installed in 2000.

Elizabeth lived from 1806-1861. In 1821 she injured her spine in a fall and in 1850 her best known book of poems Sonnets From The Portuguese was published. She had a son and passed away at the age of 55.

Elizabeth and Robert's relationship began by Robert admiring her poetry and he was a helpful critic from the beginning.

According to research, Elizabeth was the most respected and successful female Victorian poet of the time. When her POEMS was published in 1844 it gained a huge popularity and was praised heavily by Edgar Allan Poe among others. She also became a supporter of the Italian Independence movement which was reflected in her work. In her later years she developed an interest in spiritualism.

"Elizabeth and Robert Browning appear as one of the most romantic couples from the Victorian period," said writer Esther Lombardi. "The romance is legendary."
