Albuquerque, New Mexico began as a small community built around the San Felipe de Neri Church which is today still located on its original site. In the center of Old town Albuquerque however, now the surrounding area is filled with shops and restaurants for visitors to Albuquerque to see the history of the city.

While walking through Old Town Albuquerque the visitor will enjoy the ambiance of how the city was in the beginning. While walking through Old Town Albuquerque be sure to visit the local art galleries such as, Ancient Traditions Gallery, Agape Southwest Pueblo Pottery, Desert Corn Gallery, Blackbird Gallery, and many more great places to find wonderful art items.

Also along the streets of Old Town Albuquerque we had a wonderful lunch during our visit at the Hacienda Restaurant. There are several eating establishments all along the quaint adobe streets such as Church Street Café, high Noon Restaurant & Saloon; La Crepe Michel; Monica's El Portal and St. Clair Bistro to mention a few.

Each of these eating establishments specializes in some great lunch and dinner menus at very reasonable prices.

Gardens are also located in Old Town Albuquerque such as the Botanic Gardens or the Sculpture Garden. Parking for Old Town is easy to find with 7 lots located all around the central area of Old Town Albuquerque.

The best part of visiting these great places in Old Town Albuquerque is that every single one of the shops, restaurants, zoos, and gardens are all within walking distance of not only your parking lot but the central area of Old Town Albuquerque which of course is the church of San Felipe de Neri.
