When visiting Volant, Pennsylvania you will find that the made for a postcard town offers the vision of old world style traditions blended with a tad of modern events, completed with automobiles and Amish buggies co-mingling on the nostalgic country roads in perfect harmony. Nestled comfortably within the lush Pennsylvania countryside, Volant is easily distinguished from other communities largely due to the simple lifestyles found within the small community that come from the Amish and the long time residents of the town residing together in a pleasing combination that just simply fits together like a well made puzzle.

At first sight you just know that you have just entered something special. Everything from the quaint displays of creatively embellished porches of the businesses to the cleanliness and natural beauty that the residents have taken the time and effort to ensure is in place so that each visitor will receive eye pleasing therapy during their visit to Volant, Pennsylvania. It is quite literally the closest thing to God's country that you will ever experience due to the appealing and relaxed atmosphere that has a natural calming effect that allows one to reflect on the simpler things in life.

Byler's Amish Produce Stand, Route 208, Volant, PA.

Straight from the farm located directly behind this produce stand is some of the most beautiful produce known to man. The Amish farm fresh vegetables, jams, relishes, fudge and baked goods offered here look like something straight out of a magazine, and the baked goods are made with the simplest ingredients, yet they taste like products from a high end bakery. Pistachio fudge made from goat's milk, strawberry rhubarb jam, molasses cookies the size of a small dinner plate, and hot pepper butter are only a few of the delicious examples of what you will find when you visit this premium roadside stand.

This store is quite possibly the closest thing to replicating the Amish lifestyle that you will come to without actually living it firsthand. Pennsylvania orchards never tasted so good, and you can sample them by visiting one of the best wineries that western Pennsylvania has to offer. Local vineyards are bursting with ripened grapes that are hand harvested by the local Amish and prepared for visitors to sample what they have dubbed as "natures relaxant". Christmas in Volant, Pennsylvania

Spring, summer and fall are the most popular seasons for visitors to enjoy all of what Volant has to offer, but Christmas in this small community should in no way be overlooked. The town magically sparkles with lights and festivities as carolers are ringing in the season with songs that sound like something the angels created. The small community is simply bursting with Christmas spirit as shoppers stroll along the snowy white streets or watch the festivities from benches lined along the country store porches found all along Main Street.

Amish buggies can be seen and heard frolicking along the main road and mimic something straight out of a Norman Rockwell painting or a picture perfect postcard. From the end of November through mid December, visitors can enjoy sidewalk lined luminaries, food samples and a host of other seasonal activities that only get better each year. December 2, 2011 is Light up Night for the town of Volant, and bagpipes along with a lit village and hors d'oeuvres will be some of the events to expect on this magical white night.
