Elizabeth, New Jersey is northeast in the state, close to Newark, Atlantic City, Staten Island, New York, and many roads leading to New England. Elizabeth is a bustling area full of fast drivers and windy roads, making only one thing come to this writer's mind,-- 'To Garmin, or not to Garmin!' (Something we will discuss in a later article.J)
Thank goodness for the Residence Inn, a pet friendly facility with amenities resembling home. Rooms, as well as one and two bedroom suites are available and stocked with everything a traveler needs for a comfortable stay. The rooms and suites come with full sized refrigerators, stove tops, and cookware making this a good hotel for traveling families.
The Marriott has done well! This location, at 83 Glimcher Realty Way, provides a dinner three nights a week, as well as social time with beverages available. The hotel shuttle is free for a ride to the airport and to the Jersey Mall, (also a short walk), which is a huge outlet mall that just screams "Come Shop!"
The parking is gated making it safer for travelers entering at night. This also makes it great for dog-walking at any time, (not to say one should not be careful), but at least there is ample lighting and the fence does provide some security. As far as pets go, the staff is very accepting of my traveling buddies, Mya the little one, and Ruger, my (has to be part-Clydesdale, and golly geesh his feet are huge) lab pup.
This Residence Inn has an indoor pool, and a 24-hour fitness room. There is a Market area where one can purchase soups, ice cream, chips and other munchies. A Business Center area is available 24-hours a day, plus the hotel provides in room internet connection.
This location at 83 Glimcher Realty Way is within walking distance of IHOP and Ruby Tuesday restaurants, making food-finding easy.
Another positive with this hotel location is the convenience to the Jersey Turnpike with easy routes to the sea coast areas and New York. There are shuttles to the airport providing access to the train system that will take you to Staten Island, Manhattan, even Broadway! The hotel staff is helpful in arranging transportation to all of the top tourist areas, and has on-hand brochures with information on New York tours, and lots of other fun things to do in this area.
All-in-all this Residence Inn by Marriott, is a good place to stay whether traveling alone or with a group. The hotel and staff steps up to provide many extras and conveniences, making it easy to feel at home. Come soon and stay awhile!
