The Rosicrucian Egyptian Museum was originally built in 1928 in the Museum's Administration building, with artifacts displayed in glass cases in the 2nd floor lounge. In 1932, with the second floor no longer able to contain the growing number of artifacts, an annex was added to the Administration building.
The Egyptian Museum continued to grow its collection, and in 1966 a new museum building was opened. In this building children and adults alike will marvel at the ancient artifacts. The collection contains ancient mummies, figurines, and amulets. There are board games that were played by the ancient Egyptians, medicine bottles, and beautiful jewelry you can imagine gracing the neck of an Egyptian woman. You will also find musical instruments that were played during temple worship, as well as grooming accessories such as hair pins and combs. Many other wondrous items are displayed in an interesting and informative way.
If you go, be sure to take the tour of the Rock Tomb in the museum. This is a delightfully detailed replica, modeled after Ben Hasan desert originals. Although a replica, the attention to detail and authenticity is amazing.
I have visited this museum several times, and each time I have found it very rewarding, and would recommend a visit for almost anyone. Very young children (4 and under) may find the tomb a bit frightening, and we all know that they frequently get bored in museums.
