Visit the Superb Sea Beach of Chorwad in Gujarat State of India

There are many palaces in India that belonged to the Ex- kings of India. Slowly most of these palaces have been converted in to the hotels that provide very good facilities to all the tourists. Many sea beaches in Gujarat have such royal palaces that have been converted in to the hotels and resorts. Chorwad near the city of Junagadh in the State of Gujarat is one of such sea beaches where the old palace of the king has been converted to hotel resort. I had recently visited Chorwad during my latest visit to India in Last January and had stayed at this Vihar palace hotel in Chorwad for around 3 days.

Chorwad is located at around 20 miles from Keshod, which is the nearest airport. There are regular flights from Mumbai for Keshod. The hired cars and taxis are easily available from Keshod airport for going to Chorwad at the rate of around Rs.400 ($10) per trip. Chorwad is also having railway station on Ahmedabad- Junagadh railway line, which is around 6 miles away from the sea beach. There are regular bus services also available from all the major cities of the Gujarat State. Government of Gujarat have developed Toran residential complex at Chorwad in the old royal palace. You can book the room in this resort from any of the offices of Gujarat tourism located in various cities of the Gujarat State. There are 4 types of residential accommodations here in this resort. Type A is the best that provides a complete suit having bed room, living room, and attached toilet and bath. The rate for this A type suit is Rs.800 ($20) per day. The rates for B, C, and D types of accommodations are Rs.600 ($15), Rs.400 ($10) and Rs.250 ($10) per day for double occupancy. There are some dormitory accommodations also available that provides only the bed and the common toilet facilities. Chorwad sea beach is made fully green with all types of trees, mainly of mangoes, and other seasonal fruits. You will notice tall coconut trees in this area as soon as you enter the Chorwad. The sea beach is also very clean and sandy. The closed structures have also been constructed here so as all the tourists can take their bath safely. You can enjoy long walks in the morning and evening on your feet immersed in the sea water. There is couple of ancient temples of Lord Shiva here at the shore of Chorwad. Witnessing the artis in these temples in the evening hours is really a pleasant and divine experience.

The hotel rooms are spacious with solid metal beds, magnificent light chandeliers, marble fire places, and most artistic mirrors in the living room and the bathrooms that can give all the tourists the feel of staying in the royal palace. There are various restaurants available here that can suit all types of pockets. Mainly Gujarati food items are available here in all the varieties. The cost of one meal is Rs.50 ($1.25) here at the canteen of the palace. The standard Gujarati items like Upma, Aloo vada, Pakodas, etc are available in morning and afternoon breakfasts. You may plan to stay here for around 2 to 3 days as stay longer than that may not be enjoyable. Try to plan your visit at this beach either on full moon day or no moon day or on any day near to these days as the tide on such days would be very large and you will be able to enjoy your bath very nicely. One piece of advise while taking a bath in any sea is never to take bath at the time of receding of the tide as the danger of getting yourself pulled in the deep sea is very real at this time. If you want to relax completely with all the tensions and hassles of your daily life away from you, Chorwad is the ideal place for you. Also, try to plan your visit in winter months as summer is very hot here and the visit during rainy season may not allow you to take bath and long relaxing walks along the sea beach.

As I have seen that many Americans are fond of visiting the sea beaches, I am quite confident that visit to Chorwad near the city of Junagadh in Gujarat State of India would prove to be really enjoyable and refreshing to them.
