The Suncoast Seabird Sanctuary saves and heals birds that have been hooked by fishing hooks, Tampa Bay and Florida is well known for fishing and along the coasts thousands of people gather at piers for a great catch. Unfortunately, the great catch is not referring to a bird. These birds swoop down as the line goes out and they get hooked. Some may not know any way t help the bird except to cut the line and let the bird lose. On the contrary, if this happens you should actually try to lure the bird in slowly and get some assistance in getting the hook out. On the Suncoast Seabird Sanctuary's website, they share step-by-step information on how to help the bird.

The Suncoast Seabird Sanctuary is also a home to many baby birds that need to be raised and taken care of.
