Visit Tampa's Seabird Sanctuary
This Sanctuary Has More Than Just Seabirds, it is Home to Thousands of Birds!
Tampa, FL 33614
United States of America
The Suncoast Seabird Sanctuary saves and heals birds that have been hooked by fishing hooks, Tampa Bay and Florida is well known for fishing and along the coasts thousands of people gather at piers for a great catch. Unfortunately, the great catch is not referring to a bird. These birds swoop down as the line goes out and they get hooked. Some may not know any way t help the bird except to cut the line and let the bird lose. On the contrary, if this happens you should actually try to lure the bird in slowly and get some assistance in getting the hook out. On the Suncoast Seabird Sanctuary's website, they share step-by-step information on how to help the bird.
The Suncoast Seabird Sanctuary is also a home to many baby birds that need to be raised and taken care of. Also, The Suncoast Seabird Sanctuary allows you to even get more involved by allowing you to adopt a bird and volunteer at the sanctuary. When you are visiting the Suncoast Seabird Sanctuary, you can view over 500 birds in the wild bird sanctuary.
One of the best things about The Suncoast Seabird Sanctuary besides all the great help they are offering to the habitat is that admission is free. They are open all year long, every day from 9 am to sunset. This is a great way to spend a family day together at no cost, or to take in a breath of fresh air and get your mind on something else. The Suncoast Seabird Sanctuary is a birdwatchers paradise. Along with The Suncoast Seabird Sanctuary being home to recovering Pelicans, there are also songbirds and garden birds along with the Eastern Brown Pelican who dwell here.
The Suncoast Seabird Sanctuary has even had their own guests perform in movies with Disney. The Suncoast Seabird Sanctuary is a highly reputable educational experience as well as the aid and time well spent in helping birds recover and return to the wild habitat, healthy and free. Donations are also accepted. When visiting Tampa Bay, do not forget to check out The Suncoast Seabird Sanctuary, remember this experience is free. In addition, for all the anglers who are not sure about how to help a harmed bird, there is no harm in taking an educational class free; you might help save a life of a bird.
