The holiday season is upon us now. Everywhere we go, we see the trademarks of the holidays. In the Puget Sound area, there are many professional displays of holiday lights to get us all in the holiday spirit.

Zoo Lights

The Zoo Lights is a chance to experience the holiday spirit like you have never seen it before. There are more than 500,000 lights which make up the 70 holiday displays. Zoo Lights displays are part of the Tacoma Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium, located at 5400 N. Pearl St. Zoo Lights are on display from 5-9 p.m. Dec. 6-23 and Dec. 25-Jan1. Snowflake Lane

Snowflake Lane is a display of lights in Bellevue, WA. The lights display is a nightly event with music. One of the features is the drumming of live toy soldiers and magical snow. Snowflake Lane is located along Bellevue Way and Northeast Eighth Street. The lights display begins at 7p.m. every night through Dec. 27. Garden d'Lights

Garden d'Lights is a display of lights in which the light sculptures are based on gardens. The Garden d'Lights display is located at Bellevue Botanical Garden. The event is free, but donations are appreciated. If you would like to spend $5, you can receive preferred parking; otherwise there is free parking at Wilburton Park. The lights display runs through Dec. 31 from 5-9:30 p.m. For more information, call (425) 452-2750 or visit here.

The Lights of Christmas

The Lights of Christmas features many activities all in one place. There is the lights displays and music on three stages. There are also pony rides, Polar Express train rides, a petting farm, draft-horse wagon ride, theater performances, and many vendors. The dates of availability are: Dec. 6-9, 13-16, 20-23, and 27-30. All times are from 5p.m.-10 p.m. The display is held at Warm Beach Christian Camps & Conference Center in Stanwood. Prices are $12 for adults, $8 for seniors and active military, and $7 for children 4-12. Advance tickets are available for purchase here.

Fantasy Lights at Spanaway Park

Fantasy Lights is a great way to spend time during the holiday season. This light display is located on the shores of Spanaway Lake in Spanaway, WA. The light display takes up 2 and a quarter miles of land. As you drive through the park, make sure to tune your radio to station 93.7 for festive music played by a local high school band. Fantasy Lights runs every night, including Christmas and New Year's Eve from 5:30-9 p.m. New Year's Eve is the last night available to view this lights display. Admission to Fantasy Lights is per vehicle, $15/vehicle or $45/bus. Discount tickets are also available at Lakewood Community Center, Sprinker Recreation Center, and Garfield Bookstore at PLU.
