Visit Water Tower Place in the City of Chicago

Laura Leiva
Locate Water Tower Place at 835 N. Michigan Avenue. It's centrally located on the Magnificent Mile, which is a stretch of street containing many shops and restaurants in the city of Chicago. Within walking distance of many hotels, it is no more than one mile from Lake Michigan. However, if it seems like too much of a walk, taking a taxi is a great option. Taxis can be hailed anywhere on the street.

Use public transportation if you are located too far out of downtown. From Union Station, take a bus that runs to Chicago & Michigan Avenue, where Water Tower Place is located. There may be a transfer necessary in some cases, but the bus schedules should be able to tell you where to go next.

Be sure to wear comfortable walking shoes, since Michigan Avenue and all of its shops require plenty of walking.

Enter the eight-level shopping mall at the street level through Macy's. Within these eight levels are hundreds of stores, specialty shops and small boutiques that have plenty to offer. Beautifully decorated, this mall has many standard stores like Bath and Body Works and Victoria's Secret, as well as higher-end stores like Bebe and Coach.

Spend time walking around the mall and pick up a bite to eat if you're hungry. There is a bakery with a delicious selection, as well as restaurants like California Pizza Kitchen.

Browse all of the levels, since there are many shops for men, women and children. For women there are shops like Chico's, Crabtree & Evelyn, and French Connection among many others. Men would like The Walking Company, Lacoste and Hollister Co., and children can enjoy visiting the new American Girl Place and Limited Too.
