It is that time of year again, where grand light displays are sure to set the night aglow. I am lucky to be about 5-7 miles from this wonderful light display. The Winter Wonderland of Lights takes place in Ashland, Kentucky. Ashland is part of the Tri-State area bordering Huntington, WV to the west, and Ironton, Oh to the north. If you live in Huntington, you are probably about 5-12 miles away depending on where you live. So, come out and see the show.

The Winter Wonderland of Lights is celebrated in Ashland's Central Park. It is a 52 acre park with 50 beautiful holiday displays. You can see reindeer, and elves, and even Santa himself. There are alittle over 800,000 lights in this joyful celebration. There is no charge to see the light display. It is for the enjoyment of the community, and a time to make special memories.

You can also hop aboard the Winter Wonderland Express Train. The cost is 3.00 per person. Take your children, or grandchildren for a special ride. Or take your sweetheart, and cuddle up for a romantic ride. To make the night even more memorable, see Santa in person at one of Ashland's historical homes located in Central Park.

Light Displays will be held from November 16, 2009-January 1, 2010. The ceremony begins at dusk till 10:00pm, Sunday through Thursday. On Friday and Saturday nights, the display is open from dusk till 11:00pm. The Winter Wonderland Express train rides are set for Nov 20-22; 27-29; December 4-6; 11-13; 18-20. The annual Christmas Parade will be held on November 24, at 7:00pm. The light celebration is held at Ashland's Central Park in downtown Ashland at Central Park and 22nd Street.
