Biltmore House
The biggest attraction on the Biltmore Estate is the Biltmore House. It was finished being built in 1895 by George Vanderbilt. It has 250 rooms in it. It is styled in the French chateau fashion. The public is welcome to walk through a big portion of the house for a cost. You can take a self guided tour, have an audio tour, or take a specialty tour.
A flex ticket is available for purchase for a one daytime visit for $60 for an adult and $30 for children ages 10 to 16. You can add an extra day for $10 per ticket a day which I think is a great bargain. Call to make a reservation before going to make sure that you can get in to see the house. Sometimes it is so crowded that you cannot get in. It is open from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
The Biltmore House is truly a wonderful sight to see. I took my whole family there to enjoy it, and I highly recommend it for a fun family activity. I do have some warnings though for those who are planning to see the Biltmore House. Do not bring strollers into the building because there is no way you can see the whole house because some of the stairs are so narrow there that you could not bring a stroller through them. Do not go on a hot day. The Biltmore House does not have air conditioning. I went on a hot day, and I was drenched with sweat by the time I left.
Gardens
The Biltmore Estate has lots of different gardens to walk through. Each garden is designed in a unique way. There are tons of trails to walk. So make sure to wear comfortable shoes. I would actually take one day to visit the Biltmore House, and then come back another day to walk the gardens and other activities on the estate.
Inn on Biltmore Estate
If you would like to extend your stay to visiting the Biltmore Estate, you may want to book a reservation at the Inn on Biltmore Estate. You will definitely get the whole Biltmore experience if you stay a night here. Plus, it is easy to travel the whole Biltmore Estate. Plus, another perk is that you can take breaks when you need too. It is a tad bit on the expensive side, but well worth it.
Antler Hill Village
If you drive farther down on the estate you will come across Antler Hill Village. Here you will find the winery, barn, farmyard, restaurants, eateries, and shops for shopping. My family and I really had such a great time here. The adults had fun taste testing the Biltmore's famous wine in the winery, and the children had a great time seeing all the animals in the barn. Plus, we all enjoyed shopping in all the shops. A fun time was had by all, and we are all dreaming of another trip back as soon as possible.
