Of course, there is the famous and ever popular Blackpool Tower. The circus takes place at the lower area in the tower which thrives on tourist even though it is an animal free circus event. The tower ballroom is where you can listen to music, or just hang out watching the various ballroom dancers. There are also various activities for children within the tower including the Jungle Jim with it's slides, climbing ropes, ball pools, and tunnels for children's active imaginations to explore. On the ground floor you can spend time looking at the different species of fish in the Undersea World Aquarium. You can also see up to 70 miles away on from the Tower top Ride on a clear day. The glass floored Walk of Faith can be sampled above the promenade. There is also plenty of food and beverages available for purchase.
Blackpool Pleasure Beach is another attraction that must not be missed on visiting here. There are many rides including The Pepsi Max Big One, which is a roller coaster that is 230 feet high, and reaches speeds of 85 miles an hour. The Spin Doctor is a ride in which the riders spin 360 degrees to heights of 120 feet, at around 60 miles per hour. You can also choose to be taken at 80 miles per hour up a tower and then be blasted back down again on the Iceblast ride. The Pleasure beach also has over 45 restaurants and cafes with various culinary delights. Blackpool also has a sandy beach stretching 7 miles long.
Blackpool Grand Theater can offer entertainment for a good night out. It has drama, comedy, musicals, opera and much more on all year round. It is known to be one of the most historical buildings in the North West.
If you want a quieter time you could go to Stanley park where you will see the glorious gardens there. One garden in particular is designed to stimulate all five senses. Go out on a motor or paddle boat, and meet the local ducks, geese and other birds that roam the park.
Rock is a candy stick that comes in a lot of different flavors, and Blackpool is famous for making rock. You can go to Rock City to find out how the Rock is made through the demonstrations that take place on a daily basis. There are also a wide range of other candy and sweet products to try out.
The Blackpool Illuminations take place when the lights of the Blackpool Tower are switched on at the beginning of September. The lights being switched on continue until the beginning of November. Huge illuminated models are on display, as well as fiber optic light shows, and much more light displays for all to see. The display stretches for miles up the sea front. Take one of the trams up the sea front for a good look. There are different light displays added each year to keep the tourists of Blackpool happy, and never bored. So, come and visit Blackpool where there is a lot to do, and see for the whole family.
