One aspect I was pleased with the entire five day, four night stay is how incredibly pleasant and helpful the staff was. I've stayed at a lot of hotels and they were by far the best employees I've encountered. The staff at the front desk was courteous and nice and not just because they had to be. On more than one occasion my friends and I were asked how our trip was going, what we did and other questions that showed genuine interest. They offered information on where to go, called cabs when we needed to get around and even called our room to make sure we received what we needed after we requested it. Housekeeping was superb. Although we didn't require the cleaning services throughout the stay, whenever we needed something such as extra towels, they were at our door with a smile typically within ten minutes if not less.
Our two bedroom suite at TownePlace Suites in Jacksonville, North Carolina consisted of a bedroom with a king bed, one with a queen bed and then a sofa bed in the living room. The beds are extremely comfortable as is; not once did I have to ask for extra pillows or blankets. There are personal thermostat settings for each room so everyone had their preferred room temperature at all times. The kitchen area was fully stocked with pots, dishes, silverware, a dishwasher, microwave, stove, refrigerator and dish cleaning supplies. One annoyance I have with hotels is the small hairdryers they provide; they typically don't work very well, the cord is small since it's attached to the wall and it takes forever to dry my hair. I was pleased to see a large hairdryer that worked perfectly sitting in a drawer in the bathroom.
There is a television in each of the bedrooms as well as in the living room so everyone can watch what they want. Wired and wireless Internet is also available as well as a full service business center. There are newspapers in the lobby, a pool, an exercise room on site, valet dry cleaning, breakfast available from 6am to 9am and on site laundry. One of the other little features that made this hotel great was The Market, which is a small area of snacks and drinks located right next to the front desk. You grab what you want, then either pay there or have them charge it to your room. It is available all hours of the day and night and offers everything from soda to boxed macaroni and cheese.
I would definitely stay again without hesitation. It is a beautiful place and is budget friendly - well worth the money we spent. Whether you are traveling to visit the area or those staying at Camp Lejeune, I highly recommend staying at TownePlace Suites in Jacksonville.
