The Carlsbad Flower Field is located in Carlsbad near the beach. In fact, if you walk all the way up the hill (which isn't near as bad as it sounds), you will be able to look at the many shades of yellow, white, pink and reds along with the ocean. Even in it's warmest of days, the waters of the sea bring cool breezes to the guests.
The flowers they feature are ranunculus types of flower. If you don't know what they are, they are big, puffy flowers that grow bigger than an average fist! Like I mentioned earlier, they come in colors of yellow, white, pink, and reds. Cleverly, the people at the flower field also make the American Flag out of the same flowers. And somehow they find a way to make blue flowers. It is a beautiful, patriotic sign that even by driving near the field you can get a good view of it!
The field also has locations where they provide a small walkway for taking pictures. You can step inside and it will give the illusion like if you're in the middle of the field. This attraction also has a gift shop that includes the sale of the flowers themselves, gardening supplies, and other souvenirs.
Another great thing about this place is that it's very kid-friendly. To encourage walking, the field provides kids with a booklet and map. Throughout the walk, kids need to find certain stands, find the stamps, and stamp their booklet. After all the stamps are collected, they go to have the chance to win a prize. This place is also friendly to all who require wheelchairs and strollers. Though they do not rent them, they do have pathways to make your experience easier and more enjoyable. (The field also features tour guides and wagon rides.)
Now you can probably see why this event is one of the greatest attractions here in Southern California. It's fun for everyone, a great way to get outdoors, and a beautiful view that can only be found here!
The flower field is located on:
5704 Paseo Del Norte, Carlsbad, CA 92008
Next to LegoLand.
This event runs from March until May
