If you all happen to learn some important things along the way, and that is likely to happen, of course, that will be OK, too. Of all the places you can take kids, for quality, economy and family fun, you may discover that visiting children's museums in Connecticut is often a good choice.

Stepping Stones Museum for Children, Norwalk, Connecticut. As a teacher myself, I have often found that teaching techniques that make learning fun are among the best teaching tools you can find. That's why lots of parents choose to take their little ones to Stepping Stones Museum in Norwalk Connecticut. Kids who come here may look like they are playing and having a grand time, and they are, but this is also a great place for kids to simultaneously absorb lots of information.

Kids can spread out to explore and discover in four major exhibition area. And there is also a special gallery set up specifically for members of your family who are in the toddler set. For kids 10 and under the Stepping Stones Museum offers more than 100 touchable activities to try. Included among the exhibit areas are a bubble room, a waterscape room and all the splashing that goes with it and even an area called "Rainforest Adventure".

The museum is located in Matthews Park in Norwalk and is open Wed.-Sun 10 am. - 5 p.m. and Tues. 1- 5 p.m. If you visit the Stepping Stones' site at http://www.steppingstonemuseum.org you'll discover that during the summer Stepping Stones Museum for Children is open daily from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m . Kidcity Children's Museum, Middletown, CT. When enough people want a good thing to happen sometimes dreams come true. At least that was the case in Middletown, CT where a strong effort to establish a children's museum in Middletown had a happy ending. Today the Kidcity is a three level, kid friendly place for parents and kids to share exciting play and education options under one roof. The building itself is the combination of two old houses that were transported and have been connected and converted to meet the space needs of this one of a kind structure. For kids its simply a great place to visit and play.

The Kidcity Children's Museum is open from Wed.- Saturday from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. and from Sun- Tues from 11a.m. -5 p.m giving parents and other caretakers lots of available hours during which to plan a visit. The admission price at Kidcity is $7 but with a museum membership you can come as many times as you want all year long for one flat fee.

With two adjacent buildings, East and West, to work with Kidcity has plenty of room for lots of hands on activity. The rooms have simple names, the kinds that kids will remember and ask for when you return for your next visit. For example "The Ship" , "The Farm" and "Video Theater" are places kids are likely to want to see and enjoy all over again. There is something really nice about going to a museum with some real history to it, especially if it is filled to the brim with fun for your kids. Children's Museum of Southeastern Connecticut, Niantic, CT Health, safety, arts, culture, sciences, no this isn't a college curriculum its what kinds of subject matter is covered in Niantic at the Southeastern Connecticut Children's Museum. No degrees are handed out here at the end of your stay but kids do usually leave with a smile and the hope that they can return to this scene again soon. The variety of exhibits at Southeastern Connecticut Children's Museum is considerable. Your children can opt to play in the kids clubhouse, venture onto a kids fishing boat, even spend time visiting at the Global Village.

Unlike most kids museums you will find that Southeastern has honest to goodness outdoor spaces that help to introduce more diversity to the museum experience. Kids love the outdoor garden that is equipped with huge chimes, a climbing wall and a pond exhibit among other things. This is definitely a museum where kids up to Grade 5 can spend time quite contentedly.

An extra bonus of a visit to Southeastern Connecticut Children's Museum is your proximity to Niantic Village where your family can enjoy the beach, boardwalk and watch the birds and boats coming and going.
