N. Soltys
From the picturesque scenes of fallen leaves to the first touch of pure white snow, your stay in New England during the cold seasons is bound to be one of peace and beauty. New England has a myriad of attractions that only become more serene and breathtaking as the weather changes. Visiting some of the more reputable spots in New England during your fall or winter stay will make your trip all the more enjoyable.

White Mountain National Forest, New Hampshire
This gorgeous national forest is one of New England's treasured gems. With birding, camping, hiking, fishing, equestrian services and more, this is a destination you and your entire family can enjoy during your entire trip! White Mountain also has ATV trails and plenty of historical sites. This is a fantastic place to give you and your family an example of New England's winter ecosystem.

Kennebunkport, Maine
Kennebunkport is known as the town with all the best holiday charm. There are countless gorgeous lighting events and even many winter craft festivals during the holiday seasons to make you even merrier! This town also has an antique charm and quaint gentle history, making it a lovely place to visit during the snowy months.

Santa's Village, New Hampshire
Located in Jefferson, NH, the "real" Santa's Village is a holiday attraction that's been entertaining kids and adults alike for over 55 years. This place is considered to have a magical holiday charm - and with attractions like the sleigh skyway monorail, "the great humbug adventure", and the reindeer rollercoaster, it's no wonder it's held in such high regard as one of the country's most treasured holiday hotspots!

Old Sturbridge Village, Massachusetts
A personal favorite of mine, the Old Sturbridge Village is an absolutely wonderful holiday experience. There is a recreation of New England life during the late 1700s and early 1800s, as well as places to discover the history of many winter holiday traditions. With as much charm and history as New England has to offer, Old Sturbridge Village will remain a winter vacationing favorite for decades to come.

Mount Snow, Vermont
Located in the beautiful Green Mountains in Vermont, Mount Snow is a wonderful destination for those who are looking to ski, snowboard, or take part in other winter sporting activities. Mount Snow is also the location of many exciting winter sporting events, and many well known companies sponsor events there. If you're interested in winter sports and a trip to one of Vermont's most beautiful scenic spots, Mount Snow should definitely be on your list of stops!

Newport Winter Festival, Rhode Island
Newport, Rhode Island is one of the more scenic populated places in lovely snowy New England - it's got elegant mansions, tiny colonial charm, and Oceanside beauty all packed into one town. The Newport Winter Festival is a week-long multi-event festival that takes you and your family on a fantastic journey through New England's favorite winter activities and historical scenes. You and your family can tour one of the many popular festival stops - like the holiday tours of the Newport mansions, Belcourt Castle, and the snowy vineyards - or you could take part in ballroom dancing or taste-testing local made cider! The Newport Winter Festival has something for everyone.
