Beautiful Gardens in Chandigarh
Rose Garden - Rose garden is a largest garden in India; it is a very beautiful garden. This rose garden has 17,000 plants. You can find 1,600 varieties of roses here. The garden has so many medical plants such as bel, bahera, harar, camphor and yellow gulmohar. Rose Garden hosts many annual festivals & many cultural events of the city.
Rock Garden -It is a wonderful & unique garden. Many people come here for this beautiful creation. All are the artwork made by using industrial & urban waste. It has so many beautiful sculptures; which made by using a mixture of different discarded waste materials like frames, handle bars mudguards, forks, metal wires, play marbles, porcelain, auto parts, broken bangles etc.
Botanical Gardens - It is a very famous tourist attraction of Chandigarh. Chandigarh has two Botanical gardens; One Botanical garden is located in the Punjab University and other botanical garden is located between the Rock Garden and Sukhna Lake in Sector 1. The botanical garden of Punjab University has many kinds of plants such as cacti and succulent , several evergreen and exotic plants. You can also find lotus flowers here. Other botanical garden that is located at between the rock Garden and Sukhna Lake; you can find beautiful rare species of plants and small lily pools here.
Chandigarh Bougainvillea Park - it is a very favorite sightseeing destination for the visitors of this city. It is located in sector 3 in the Chandigarh. This garden shows special varieties of bougainvilleas flowers. You can find about 65 distinctive varieties of Bougainvillea shrubs. The park surround creepers that cover a large collection of bowers, arches, pavilions and arcades.
Fitness Trail & flower garden - This garden located at sector 10. It has 94 acres cover area; 52 acres land has beautiful seasonal flowers and the other area has wonderful sculptures of well-known artists. This park offers many trails & flower gardens. Many people come here for walk & physical workouts.
Garden of fragrance - It is a very beautiful garden where you can take smell of fresh natural flowers. The garden has distinctive aromatic and fragrant plants. Garden of fragrance is located in Sector 36 in the Chandigarh. You can find these types of plants here such as are Raat ki rani, demask rose, motia, Champa, Haar Shingar, mehndi (Heena) and varieties of jasmine. This park has many picnic areas. Most people come here in the morning and evening for walk & meditations.
Shanti Kunj - Shanti means relief. It is located at a very peaceful area that has no pollution & noise. Shanti kunj situated between the Rose Garden and the Cricket Stadium in Sector sixteen in the Chandigarh. The garden has medical plants that cure many diseases.
