Visiting Las Vegas, NV

Las Vegas is one of the most popular vacation destinations in the United States. One reason is that it can be a very economical trip as long as you do not gamble away the money you are saving. The casinos do all they can to entice you into their casinos. Some even make you walk through their casino to get to the $3.00 dinner buffet. As long as your will power is good, you can stay and play for little money.

With all the hotels, restaurants, bars, nightclubs, shows, and casinos competing for your dollars you can actually have a vacation on a tight budget. Vegas hotels all offer specials and packages. They know that getting you into their hotel means that more than likely you will be making a stop or three in their casino. Midweek stays are cheaper than weekend stays.

You will notice that casino hotels also try to get you in by advertising crazy meal deals. The catch is that you have to walk through their casino. Some make you walk through their entire casino so that you see all their gaming tables and see the lights flashing in their slot machines. If you have the will power you can eat for about 15 dollars or less each day!

While the shows also compete for your hard earned dollars, they are still expensive and sell out quickly. If you have your heart set on a particular show then contact the Concierge desk at your hotel as soon as you book it to see if they can help you purchase the tickets in advance.

Take the kids to Vegas? Absolutely! Most of the hotels and resorts have themes and gimmicks to keep you at their hotel even if you are not gambling. Some have man made beaches, some have pirate ships, some are based on the pyramids in Egypt and some have lazy river pools. There is certainly something for everyone. Just remember that children under 18 are not permitted within 50 feet of a casino so in some cases, in the older hotels, you have to be creative in getting around the property.

Circus Circus Hotel, while not a 5 star property, is great for families. It has an incredible indoor amusement park. You purchase armbands for the kids and they can spend hours riding the rides and having fun! Some of the larger hotels have roller coaster rides built on top or on the side of their hotel but most of these are expensive. Some cost 12 dollars for just one ride.
