Cafe Du Monde
First stop of any New Orleans trip should always be the same-coffee! Try a cup of chicory-laced cafe au lait and use it to wash down some of their homemade sugary sweets. Not that they need anything to get rid of their delicious flavor! Located at 800 Decatur Street, cafe Du Monde will have you asking for refills.
August
This beautiful restaurant is aglow with tons of chandelier prisms, gorgeous brocade fabrics, and amazing wood decor. The food is plentiful and scrumptious, and chef John Besh's cooking couldn't be improved even if someone wanted to! Try them for yourselves at 301 Tchoupitoulas Street.
K-Paul's Louisiana Kitchen
This is where, supposedly, "blackened" food started, and chef Paul Prudhomme takes the credit for it! Try his blackened tuna or fried crawfish tails( a standard southern dish) and make sure to leave room for their many homemade desserts. Check them out at 416 Charles Street. You won't be disappointed!
Clover Hill
A favorite with the local gays, Clover grill is open 24 hours on the weekend, making it a hit with everyone else, too. The decoration is styled from the 40's, and this diner is usually packed with after-hours patrons looking to come off their drunk. Or at least curb it! Stop in at 900 Bourban Street after hours to fill your stomach.
Praline Connection
A quiet restaurant that offers southern classics in a quaint atmosphere. A great place to just sit and relax, or talk with a loved one. Found at 542 Frenchmen street.
Emeril's
Expect Emeril Lagasse's place to be packed at all times. The service is said to be near-perfect, the food a combination of both modern cooking and Creole cuisine, and the atmosphere rambunctious. Try a homemade dessert before you go. Emeril's is located at 800 Tchoupitoulas Street, and can be called at 504-528-9393. Or try Emeril's Delmonico at 1300 St. Charle's Avenue. With mostly emphasis on traditional creole cooking, this is one place you need to be seen at. Again, service is wonderful, the food is cutting-edge, and you will leave happy and satisfied. If nothing more, you'll get to say you ate at the famous chef's business.
Nola
Ever hear of bourbon mashed sweet potatoes? Well, its something you will want to try at Nola's. The atmosphere here is artsy and happy, the service great, and the food perfect. you won't regret your visit. Located at 534 St. Louis Street.
