Visiting Sun Valley, Idaho

In 1994, my son moved to Sun Valley, Idaho from Orange county, California. He loves it there. The mountains, the fresh air, the feel of small town America to name a few reasons why.

We went up to visit him a few months after he moved there. Actually, it is a ski resort in the winter and that is what it is known for. At Christmas time they have skiers holding lights as they ski down the mountain. It is spectacular to see. He made many friends there. Everyone knows everyone basically. There are many famous people who live there or have a winter resort home. Bruce Willis owns much of the neighboring town of Hailey, Idaho.

The Sun Valley Lodge has autographed pictures of the "rich and famous" who live or visit there along their hallways. From past stars such as Lucille Ball to present names such as Arnold Schwarzenegger. Ernest Hemingway committed suicide at his home in Ketchum, Idaho, another surrounding town
He is buried there in the local cemetery. Demi Moore resides in Hailey where she raises her daughters.

There is fishing, river rafting and many more things to do. The Wood River runs through the Sun Valley area. It is a great place to visit. In the summer, it is beautiful with wild lavender Lupin covering the grounds.

Though, many a bear, or a fox or a raccoon can be seen around your home. It is best to leave nature alone. Many people hunt (which I don't believe in)when hunting is in season. There is alot to do all the time, even in the small town. I have seen otters playing in the icy rivers. If you love nature or skiing, you will love Sun Valley, Idaho.
