Visiting Yosemite Valley in the Fall

Visiting Yosemite in the fall is a great place to see some fall foliage among many other great things. Yosemite as we all know is full of wonder and beauty. Going in the early fall is "off season" although the park is open 7 days a week 24 hours a day. It is great because the summer vacationers have gone home. The park is not as crowded.

In the Yosemite Valley, they have the buses that are free and they take you all through the valley to the different attractions that the valley has to offer. You can hike all around on many trails. You can see climbers on the rocks above. You can go to the Ahwahnee Lodge, the Yosemite Lodge, you can rent bikes, ride horses and so on. There is so much to see and do and the buses make it so much easier. You can park your car in the visitors area and hop on the bus. The buses even ran until 10 PM during our stay.

You will have to expect different changes in the weather. It was sunny, it was raining, it was very foggy. The weather varies from hour to hour when we visited.

I suggest that you take the drive to Glacier Point. It is so worth it. You can see straight across Half Dome and El Capitan and look down into the Yosemite Valley. You will also see waterfalls as well. It is a spectacular view and well worth seeing.

As you drive through, you will see the foliage colors turning gold, and some reddish brown. It is so pretty to see all the trees and plants turning. It makes the drive so grand.

If you want to drive though the Tioga Pass, make sure it is open. When we were there, it was closed due to snow. I suggest a visit in the fall if you can. It is a great time to visit!
