Visualizing Yourself Out of Weight Issues

How I Painted My New Body Then Achieved It

Visualization is a key component to any weight loss goal. Seeing yourself as your new self is very important in becoming thin. When you see yourself as fat and unattractive, you won't feel good. While I always had a trouble with weight, I tried to dress nice anyway. And haven't been totally shunned by guys.

But two years ago, I painted a thinner version of me. As I am a bit of an artist. And two years later, a house mate asked me if it was a self portrait. Not exactly. But I saw the thin me and eventually, I got the courage to eat sensibly and exercise more and now feel better than ever. While I may never weigh my goal weight, I am now a size 14 instead of a twenty. And I lost sixty five lbs and have more energy. I feel better eating more protein and can still have a burger once in a while and I am happy.

Some people even think I could be a personal trainer myself. I don't know. I like working with children too much. But I continue to exercise and feel better than I have since 1993.

But I think all positive thinking and such has its place. I certainly didn't do anything to deserve my brother making fun of me since I was a sweet baby. I don't know how anyone can justify someone abusing a child. You don't will something like that into being. So many times victims feel it is their fault.

Sometimes, when you are abused you think something is wrong with you. And society will try to use you up. I was afraid of men after always fighting with my brothers. And I've had my share of men getting out of control. And all I can say is I'm still a lady.

I don't believe I attracted a heroin epidemic into my life. Or being told I could be a model if I lost weight. They don't tell you that creepy guys will grab at you when you go on a diet. I much prefer meditation to heroin any day. And the good news is I haven't been grabbed at in the last twelve months.

But all that said, I feel a lot better after conquering one difficult battle with emotional eating and I hope my story will help you try to improve your health. There is no magic pill to feeling better, that proper diet and exercise can't help. It can help your heart, prevent cancer, and lift your mood when done right. Just don't try to starve yourself and wonder why you don't feel too good.

  • Never let others tell you you need illegal drugs.
  • Never starve yourself to be a model
They used to think I would never do anything, But I managed to graduate magna cum laude and now I am happy working with kids.
