VitaBrownie

Occasionally I go on a diet which mostly consists of trying frozen diet entrees, snacks and desserts. Then I give up and go back to the "real thing," especially real desserts. Well now I have finally found my favorite dessert, the brownie, in a frozen diet food package that is unbelievably good - the VitaBrownie.

The VitaBrownie is tasty, chewy and made of deep, velvety chocolate with chopped walnuts on top. Four satisfying 2 ounce brownie squares come in each package and can be thawed at room temperature or in the microwave.

Each 100 calorie brownie is fortified with 15 vitamins and minerals. They are made with whole wheat and contain 6 grams of fiber, 4 grams of protein, are low-fat (only 2 grams), low-sodium, have no trans fats and no cholesterol. They have that little red heart on the package that declares them to be "part of a Heart Healthy diet." They are all natural and have no preservatives. So besides being scrumptious they are good for you! They are also Kosher.

VitaBrownies are the real deal when it comes to taste. The company, Vitalicious, promises deep, velvety chocolate and a moist brownie. I think the texture might be improved by including the chopped walnuts inside the brownie instead of just on top, but that's really my only complaint. The high fiber content makes this little brownie very satisfying and definitely calms down my chocolate craving, which is pretty intense especially when I'm on a diet.

The packaging recommends serving the brownie with whipped cream and raspberries. I'm sure you could substitute diet whipped cream if you're really counting the calories. I tried it and it was oh so yummy. A great way to end a low-fat, low -carb meal.
