I first discovered that the website, www.vitacost.com, is very user friendly. You can shop by category, sales, or by the product name or brand. The next thing I noticed was that this company offers a huge variety of products and brands. They carry all of the major health food store brands of soaps, toothpastes, oils, vitamins, minerals, herbs and even teas and food items. Many of their products are also available certified organic or natural. The prices are also extremely competitive. The items I price-checked were 30-40% lower on this website than at my local health food store. Many items I saw were closer to 50% lower. For example, a box of Traditional Medicinals Red Raspberry Leaf tea costs $6.59 locally, but is sold for $3.50 by Vitacost.
Once you have selected the items you want to purchase from the website, checkout is a breeze. You can opt out of all of the email advertisement options and pay via credit card or Paypal. You can also order by phone. You will receive an order confirmation email right after you submit your order.
One of the best features of Vitacost is their shipping service. All orders of any size ship for just $4.99. This was a great advantage for me because I don't like to lose my savings from shopping online to shipping and handling charges. This standard rate is for shipping that takes 3-10 days, but faster options are also available.
Shortly after purchasing several items from Vitacost I needed to make a return. I called the toll free number and got to talk to a real person without much trouble. She was very helpful and told me exactly what I needed to do in order to return the items for a full refund. Vitacost provides a 30 day money back guarantee on their products and so the only cost the customer loses is the price of shipping and insurance.
I am so glad that I was told about Vitacost. I now have a low-cost, convenient source for high quality, safe health products.
