Vitamin C Banned in Canada

Tough Penalties to Be Imposed on Canadians Who Use Natural Healing

Enough is enough from the pharmaceutical companies bombarding Americans with their drugs. Every major television network has been bribed and has succumbed to hefty advertising payments and wooed by multiple sponsorships per hour. We've all seen the ads, a happy little insect gliding in the summer breeze to distract us when the side effects are mumbled at breakneck speed. "May cause paralysis, vomiting, nerve damage or death". Death? Do they purport that we choose death over a leg cramp? Perhaps the most offensive campaign was the 2007 Astrazeneca wedge on Wheel of Fortune. The drug companies need to understand that we don't want to buy or win their wares.

Canada is the first western country to feel the greed of pharmaceutical giants as they flex their muscle for more money. The conquest for control over preventive medicines has spilled into Canada's political arena with the passing of a bill to ban the sale of vitamin C. The Canadian government has buckled to the pressure of the industry with the cunning passage of the C51 bill that snuck past voters. This bill will ban the use of holistic medicine and the purchase of life saving supplements such as viatmin C and Omega-3 acids. Foundational research and studies were pioneered by multiple-time Nobel Prize winner Dr. Linus Pauling for his treament of cancer with vitamin C, in some cases, putting the disease into full remission. Dr. Pauling used mega doses, and such extremes should not be taken without the assistance of a medical professional. But, consequently with his groungbreaking natural healing success, the public has become acutely aware of the benefits from C in smaller doses for repairing connective tissue and preventing disease. However, healthy people don't bankroll the pharmaceutical industy; sick people do. This motion to bring criminal charges against Canadian citizens is not only a disgrace to North America, but endangers our own mortality here in the States.

Canada's rebuke of alternative medicine dates back to the early 1970's when Dr. Pauling, along with co-researcher Ewan Cameron, released their vitamin C documentaion to the Canadian Medical Journal. Even 30 years ago governmental entities preferred to keep it's citizens dependant on pharmaceuticals, thus debunking Dr. Paulings reports. Pauling responded by saying that his findings had led to significantly prolonged life with vitamin C, and the replication of his procedures by independant laboratories were altered for the treatment to fail.

So, not surprisingly in 2009, the Canadian people will have to get a prescription from a doctor and convince him that the supplements are more beneficial than the drugs. Those caught with unauthorized vitamin C are subject to a $5,000,000 criminal fine and up to two years in prison. The heart of the issue is not only taking away one's right for self-preservation, but relinquishing one's physical well-being to government.

The ripple effect of Canadian law may have a devastating impact for Americans. With the slippery-slope of universal health care proposed here, our individual choices for alternative medicine may be compromised with government imposed sanctions against those who buck the system. If it can happen in Canada, it can happen here.
