Vitamin E - a Fat Soluble Vitamin
A Vitamin to Improve Hair and Skin, Support Your Immune System, and so Much More!
There are many benefits of taking Vitamin E orally or by using it on the skin:
Heart health - slowing the hardening of the arteries
Preventing heart attacks
Treating high blood pressure
Prevention of many types of cancer like breast, colon, stomach, and pancreatic
Diabetes
Epilepsy
RLS - restless leg syndrome
Aging, slowing down the normal aging process
Infertility
Age-related macular degeneration
Skin health, including scar treatment, wrinkle reducer and stretch mark treatment
That's a pretty incredible list, so it's obvious we need Vitamin E in our bodies.
Since it is possible to overdose on Vitamin E, as it's not with Vitamin C because it's washed out daily, Vitamin E needs to be monitored so there is never a toxic amount in the body. This is not something to be overly concerned about. You would have to take mega doses to overdose.
Acceptable doses for a 150 lb. adult, would be 1000mg in the AM, and 1000mg. in the PM. If you are going through a sickness, or want to add additional support to your immune system, add 1000mg more per day. To get the best results from this vitamin, pair it with Vitamin C, because then both of these anti-oxidants will work together to strengthen your immune system, and to kill free radicals.
Vitamin E can also be applied to your skin. Health food stores across the country carry vitamin E oil in a bottle. This is an excellent way to use Vitamin E. If you burn yourself at home, you can improvise. Simply take a pin, and puncture a Vitamin E gel capsule, and apply it to your skin. It is the same substance, and you can also apply it to the wrinkles around your eyes, or around your mouth, before you go to bed at night to smooth them out.
Vitamin E is also good on any scars you may have. So keep some in capsules to take everyday, and use the gel form to apply to your skin.
Vitamin E is found in many foods naturally. Some of them are broccoli, spinach, wheat germ, sunflower seeds, pumkin seeds, corn oil, safflower oil, tomatoes, and other nuts and seeds. So just by adding these on salads, and soups, for instance, you can increase your level of Vitamin E.
