Thus Vittana has been created to help students in countries around the world get a micro loan to pay for their college education or vocational training. The students borrow the money needed for tuition. Then when they graduate and start working they pay back the loan. The college section of this micro-loan program focuses on students near the end of their education. This helps to ensure that the students will graduate and be able to re-pay the loan.
Lenders give small amounts (or more if able to be generous); then when the loan is repaid they get the money back. They may then want to donate that same money again to help another student get an education.
Huffington Post spoke with the CEO of Vittana, Kushal Chakrabarti. He stated: "In just 10 months, Vittana has built some of the first college micro-loan programs in six countries around the world...$10 and $25 at a time, more than 750 people from over 15 countries have funded over $100,000 in loans to nearly 200 students around the world."
Vittana is a way to help someone get an education so he or she can build a strong life. Education is the best way to get ahead in today's competitive world. So, think about being a miracle to someone! Help a person get an education and you will be a hero.
Vittana states that the full amount donated goes directly to the student loan. Fees are not deducted from the donation according to Vittana.org.
