Vivica Fox's Sex Tape: Drunken Scandal or Free Publicity?

Is Vivica Fox the new celebrity turning to porno to rev up her career? This question is a valid one since rumors are all over the internet on gossip sites like Media Take Out and Sandra Rose that she has a sex tape out. These sources state it all allegedly arose out of the misdeeds of a male lover.

As an inebriated Vivica Fox knelt on her knees servicing him orally, her "friend" was video taping it on his cell phone. Afterwards, he e-mailed it to several of his acquaintances. Thankfully, one of them sent it back to Fox.

This actress then brought the event immediately to the attention of the Atlanta police. It is unclear if they have stopped its leakage at this point. However, no links are available on the internet at this time for public viewing.

This news is shocking, but apparently common these days amongst female celebrities. Remember how more popular Pamela Anderson, Paris Hilton and Kim Kardashian became after their tapes were "leaked" out? The scandal took their careers to new levels getting them lucrative book deals, tv shows AND money from the tapes.

It is possible that the publicity machine behind Vivica Fox is looking to boost her career by staging a fake video tape. I say fake because it's only a rumor at this point. Again, it hasn't shown up anywhere and it isn't for sale. However, the other possibility is that Ms. Fox is spiraling down due to the misuse of alcohol. Remember last year?

In 2007, Vivica Fox faced DUI charges. It was a surprise because until that point, the only scandalous thing she'd down was date rapper 50 Cents and wear near-naked clothing. Yet, we expect this kind of behavior from Hollywood. A sex tape is a revelation for a legitimate actress like Vivica Fox, especially an African-American one who is versatile in her acting ability.

You probably remember her best from popular films"Kill Bill Vol. 1" and "Set It Off." In each role, she played a strong woman facing difficult times. Of course, she loses the battle in both by the end.

Hopefully, in this new role, she'll triumph. I really hate to see one of my favorite actresses go out like that. However, we'll know in a few weeks what's up because the unfortunate tape will surface or it'll lay below the surface and act as searing-hot free publicity.
