Vivitar's New Bamboo Eco-friendly Computer Accessories

David Leavitt
It has happened to all of us at one time or another: either the space bar gets a little too loose or a drink falls. The end result is the same: time for a new keyboard. Why settle for bland when you could have something unique and help out the environment at the same time? Vivitar, a company that is traditionally known for manufacturing digital cameras, has released an interesting new line up of eco-friendly accessories.

Vivitar's "Bamboo Collection" most notably features a keyboard and mouse both made primarily from bamboo. Although a keyboard and mouse are both electronic devices themselves, according to a press release from Vivtar they are "composed of recycled material". The bamboo keyboard and optical mouse both use USB cables that support any operating system and will sell for an MSRP of $79.99 and $29.99 respectively.

There will also be a bamboo iPad and IPhone cases that will be available for $29.99 each as well as a set of bamboo ear buds with silicon ear cushions for just $19.99.

In addition to the bamboo products, Vivitar is selling eco-friendly electronic cleaning kits with microfiber cleaning pads and an eco-friendly gel-spray cleaner ($4.99 to $9.99 each).

Pretty nifty no?
