VMA News: Taylor Swift Sings a Song About Kanye West at the MTV Video Music Awards

Taylor Swift is only age 20, but she has a lot of composure. Last year she held her ground while Kanye West went into a rant about her award for Best Female Video at the VMAs. Though she must have been very shocked and probably angry too, she kept her calm presence and didn't freak out at Kanye West.

And now one year later, Taylor has created a song about Kanye and presented it at the VMAs. With her song she shows the world that Kanye West didn't take away her glory and didn't cause her to become vindictive.

Taylor Swift is Kind to Kanye West

The lyrics of Taylor's song show a wisdom about life that is surprising in someone so young. She also seems to be expressing kindness to Kanye reminding him that "who you are is not what you did."

She also sang "You have new Septembers... Every one of us has messed up too." These words of forgiveness are sweet and a gift to Kanye.

Taylor probably learned a lot from the incident with Kanye and by writing her song too. She may have learned that no matter how much talent you have there's always someone willing to take away your glory. She probably also learned something about the dangers of ego and the importance of forgiveness.

Beyonce Reaches out to Taylor

Perhaps Taylor even made a new friend through Kanye's antics. Beyonce was very kind to Taylor. She let Taylor have some of her time on the stage so Taylor would not miss the experience of enjoying the spotlight for winning a big award. Beyonce showed a lot of kindness and class to Taylor.

Kanye West: Out of Control Ego?

The public will probably never know why Kanye went into a rant over Taylor's win. Did he just want to be the center of attention? Did he want to make a point about the music industry? Or was he just possibly blasted?

Watching Kanye ranting at Taylor was hard to watch. She's such a gentle looking person and he seemed out of control. He invaded her time on stage. He may have let his ego run his behavior out of control.

West apologized to Taylor on Twitter recently. Is that enough? Can anyone really ever apologize for such outrageous antics?

This year Lady Gaga won Best Female Video for "Bad Romance." No big surprise there. Lady Gaga brings a bit of theater to her performances. She is quite a different performer from Taylor Swift. They each have their own unique talent and style. And that is the beauty of music. There is room for all kinds of creativity.

Taylor Swift will release her 3rd album, "Speak Now" on October 25^th. It will be interesting to see how this young musical talent takes her listeners on a new ride through the themes of the songs on this album.
