But in the end, because of it's low price (around $.90 at our local Wal-Mart), I got both the Silky Experiences Lavender Luster shampoo and conditioner, and decided to start using them to write this review.
First off, the shampoo claims on the bottle that it has a "new richer lather."
The conditioner states that it has a "rich formula 2X stronger hair."
I was curious to put both of these claims to the test; the first because the last shampoo I'd used barely had a lather at all, and the latter statement because my hair has been abused, and breaks easily, so I was curious to see what would happen after using the VO5 Silky Experiences.
The smell of the Lavender Luster is what made me choose it over the Champagne Kiss (Strawberry smelling) scent. I love lavender, and this combo smells lovely. It it a lasting smell that carries into your hair for long after you use the products.
The shampoo does actually have a great lather, which is nice for sudsing up one's hair, and it makes your hair feel clean.
The conditioner doesn't feel oily when you use it, and I noticed that I didn't have to use so much. My hair needs conditioner, or it's a mess! This is a nice balance, not having to use a lot of the product, and not having that oily feeling afterwards.
I noticed the amazing silkiness after a couple of uses--this combo of shampoo and conditioner really does make your hair feel like silk! My hair remains soft to touch and silky smooth even after I sleep on it.
If I use the VO5 Silky Experiences shampoo and conditioner, and then don't even brush my hair, just towel dry it--my hair will still be silky soft after! I was really amazed by this factor (my husband loves it as well!). I even notice the silkiness if I skip a day of washing/conditioning! That's how powerful it is.
As for making my hair stronger, I am not sure how long one has to use the product to actually chart it, but so far it's been doing what it says as far as I can tell; my hair breaks much less now.
Overall, for the price, I am thoroughly impressed with the VO5 Silky Experiences Lavender Luster, because it A) is cheap, B) smells wonderful, and most importantly, C) does what it advertises to do!
I don't think I've ever had such soft hair. If you're looking for salon-quality results, but don't have a star-budget, I strongly suggest VO5's Silky Experiences!
An added plus: VO5 shampoos/conditioners aren't tested on animals.
