Volbeat to Embark on Two-week North American Tour

Danish metal quartet Volbeat has announced plans to return to North America for a two-week coast-to-coast run in August.

The tour will begin in New York City with an appearance on August 13 at the Gramercy Theatre, then the band heads to Canada for a one-off show in Toronto, and finally back to the States where they play throughout the Midwest before heading towards the west coast.

The band will be performing in Flint at the Machine Shop on August 18 and at The Intersection in Grand Rapids on August 20.

The two week tour will be presented by Revolver Magazine.

Revolver.com will be live with a promotion throughout July.

The magazine is the only U.S.-based publication green-lit to feature a behind-the-scenes glimpse in to the recording sessions of Volbeat's fourth studio album Beyond Hell/Above Heaven (Vertigo/Universal Germany) coming this Fall in Europe and early 2011 in the United States.

That article will run in the July / August issue of Revolver on-sale June 22.

Since the Danish metal quartet's formation in October, 2001, Volbeat has steadily risen to become one of the major attractions in the European scene. In an age of retreads, the band has been offering a unique blend of metallic hard rock alongside inspired Elvis-tinged melodies, and the world has taken notice.

Over the past year, Volbeat has toured in both North America and Europe with Metallica, and currently are booked for an extensive festival and headline run overseas.

Gothic rock band Dommin is the opening act on all dates. Rock band The Sleeping are direct support August 13 through August 20. Direct support for the West Coast dates is not yet confirmed.
