The labeling on the shampoo states that the product is "formulated with an energizing citrus complex, gently cleanses and clears away dulling residue to awaken hair's vitality, body and shine." The ingredients include lemon fruit leaf extract, wheat amino acids, salicylic acid, ginger root extract, orange fruit extract, and hydrolyzed soy protein. The labeling on the conditioner states that the product is "formulated with featherweight conditioning agents, nourishes and strengthens to enliven hair's softness, bounce and shine without weighing it down". The ingredients include lemon and orange fruit extract, ginger root extract, wheat amino acids, hydrolyzed soy protein, and eucalyptus fruit extract.
To pretty much sum it up, already after my initial use of this product line, I was not impressed at all with this product line and in fact, very disappointed. The shampoo is very heavy and ends up leaving a residue when attempting to rinse it out. The conditioner does weigh down your hair and mine looked very greasy and flat already on the same day. I was not impressed with this product at all. Also, its packaging is somewhat misleading making the products appear more "natural", and although it does contain a few "natural" ingredients the rest are either synthetic or potentially unhealthy. The shampoo alone contains six different kinds of sulfates which are considered carcinogenic.
The Matrix line is already pricey to begin with. However, its Sleek.Look line is well worth the price. Its Biolage line is not. I happened to purchase the 33.8-ounce (one liter) bottles which usually retail for $21 to $25. The smaller bottles usually retail for around fifteen dollars. Luckily, I got these on sale, but even so these are going right back to the store for a refund. Don't waste your time on the Biolage line. It's not at all what it claims to be.
